The story so far
Some people simply walk into this world smiling. As is the case for Bailee Madison, a florida native, born on October 15th 1999. She started her career in entertainment business at the early age of two weeks in an office depot commercial. Confident and charming, Bailee is able to bring an honesty into each role that she takes with a maturity beyond her years, quite literally lighting up the room with her quick smile and can-do attitude.
Her first experience on the big screen was Lonely Hearts in which she plays the heartbreaking role of a young girl named Rainelle, caught up in a world full of pain and crime. After acting along side big names such as John Travolta and Salma Hayek, Bailee moved on to working with talents closer to her own age, when she worked with AnnaSophia Robb and Josh Hutcherson in Bridge to Terabithia. Bailee plays the key role of the adorable May Belle Aarons, the eventual confident and younger sister to the main character. The movie's popularity and Bailee's exceptional portrayal of her character earned her many fantastic reviews, calling her a "scene stealing newcomer", and "phenomenal".
With each passing year Bailee's talent and experience seemed to grow, 2007 brought on the role of Hannah Cottrell in Saving Sarah Cain where Bailee's hard work earned her The Grace Awards and had critics claiming that she "...stole the show with her mischievous smile".
On to 2008, things just kept getting busier and better for Miss Bailee. Playing the key role of Olivia Lichten along side Elle Fanning in a wonderful film called Phoebe in Wonderland, Bailee touched audiences with her careful portrayal of a young girl in a troubled family. 2008 was also marked with two Young Artist Awards for her previous performances in Bridge to Terabithia and The Last Day of Summer.
Along with her many other film credits, Bailee has guest starred in the hit TV shows House MD and CSI: NY. 2009 could not be looking better for Bail as she has landed role after role, her latest performance with Jake Gyllenhaal, Natalie Portman, Tobey Maguire even inspiring some oscar buzz. In the future we have Letters to God, An Invisible Sign of My Own, and an exciting lead role in Don't Be Afraid of the Dark to look forward to. Somehow in the midst of all the excitment and filming, Bailee still manages to find the time to go bike riding or spend time with her friends and her loving family.
Little Miss Bailee is able to focus entirely on her role, bringing an overwhelming amount of talent and emotion to her role, and then shaking it off the moment the cameras stop rolling. The most incredible thing about this young lady, however, is her ability to remain grounded and humble in an industry that is constantly asking for narcissism. Bailee's natural talent, her passion for her work and her ability to remain a little girl at heart are certainly going to take her far, and we can't wait to watch it happen.
